Here’s the Soul Kitchen Live experience…
…
I’ve been talking about hair and transformers, I know.
So, to make up for the lack of musical focus in my posts, here’s something special. Remember the songwriters retreat I attended Memorial Day Weekend? Well, here is a clip of what was worked on …

This piece is a colab between myself, J.Black (from Puerto Rico, not pictured, he went to sleep in another room) and DJ Vando (who I found lives not far from me, but we had to travel allllll the way to McRae just to be introduced, go figure). This, obviously, is a rough cut of the song. DJ Vando is editing it even as we speak. Once it’s done I’ll post it. So, I welcome your comments (as long as none of them are about my 1yr old post baby belly, that is unless you are a pilates instructor giving away free classes, of course, ;-} )
Remember how I met Vinx?
Well, the SoulKitchen is reving up for another retreat this weekend and it should be niiiiiiiice!
This is what I’ll be doing Memorial Day Weekend, check out more here…
I did say I was going to post the ‘Vinx’ story next didn’t I.
So, this is how I met Vinx…
Vinx’s Comment:

I know we have not met before but i am aware of your drum & bass influenced music. please call my director D Black if you are interested and have any questions…. his number is ***.***.***0…………. hope you can attend…Vinx”
This is the message I received in my MySpace inbox on Aug 5, 2006 11:31 AM (man am I glad I haven’t deleted that yet, here’s a secret about me, I’m an information pack rat)
When I first read it, I was like “What kind of bootleg offer is someone trying to sell me now” but somewhere on the inside I knew it was legit. So I went on the hunt for information about the then mysterious Mr. Vinx and boy was I surprised.
To date, this is probably the most amazing experience I’ve had on MySpace. The man responsible for Sting’s signature percussive sound (the Soul Cages Era) actually FOUND me on MySpace. How cool is THAT!
So yes, I went to the retreat and the rest is history in the making. Just check us out
Ok,
MySpace.
Personally,
I love it!
Everyone that I’ve colaborated with so far (outside of my long time friend OJ) I’ve met via MySpace.
Ron aka Da Inspector of the Midus Touch aka Ron Tha Broker, has been one of my premier champs and has introduced me to a bevy of uber talented producers. Ninjatron, just found me (still finishing up work with him). Dan Marshall, the same (he’s blowing up now too from what I hear). And Vinx, well, I’ll tell that story next post.
Here’s the short list…
Ron
Midus Touch
Ralo
Sol Id
Lomax
Craggs and Paralell Forces
Dan Marshall
NinjaTron
Vinx
Many of these colabs are featured on my music player (up above) so let me know what you think. I’ll keep ya’ll posted as I do more.
